Ministry `no´ to mitigation steps on 2 roads around Tadoba

Nagpur: The ministry of roads, transport and highways (MoRTH) has refused to construct mitigation structures on crucial Mul-Chandrapur and Bamni-Navegaon roads due to cost constraints. It agreed to construct mitigation measures on Nagbhid-Brahmapuri-Armori, Chimur-Warora, and Gadchiroli-Mul sections. A panel of forest and road agency officials, besides conservationists and road ecologists, had suggested strong mitigation measures on the 40km Chandrapur-Mul road, which has seen more wildlife deaths in road hits.
